Terms of service

tiqet provides the software an organizer uses to publish an event, sell tickets, and admit attendees. The organizer, not tiqet, is the seller of every ticket and the party responsible for the event itself.

tiqet acts as a limited payment collection agent: payments are processed by Stripe into the organizer's own connected Stripe account, and tiqet retains only its service fee. tiqet is not a party to the contract between an organizer and an attendee, does not organize, host, or control any event, and gives no warranty about an event taking place, its content, its safety, or its quality.

An organizer account may be opened only by a person aged 18 or over who is authorized to bind the organization they register. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your credentials secret, and for everything done through your account.

You must verify your email address and complete Stripe's onboarding before you can publish an event with paid tickets. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used unlawfully or fraudulently, or that Stripe or a card scheme requires us to stop serving.

As an organizer you undertake that:

• you hold every licence, permit, and insurance the event requires under the law of the place it is held;
• your event listing is accurate, including price, date, time zone, venue, capacity, age restrictions, accessibility, and any material condition of entry;
• you comply with consumer law, including the information and cancellation rules that apply to your attendees;
• you honour valid tickets, and you handle attendee complaints, cancellations, and refunds as described in the Refund policy;
• you do not sell tickets to anything unlawful, hateful, or otherwise prohibited by [prohibited events list].

You indemnify tiqet against claims, fines, and reasonable costs arising from your event or from your breach of these terms.

Publishing an event and selling free tickets costs nothing. For paid tickets tiqet charges a service fee of the service fee shown at checkout. Each event decides whether the buyer pays the fee on top of the ticket price or the organizer absorbs it; the buyer always sees the total before paying.

Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's own Connected Account Agreement, which you accept during onboarding. Stripe deducts its own processing fees and pays out to your bank account on Stripe's schedule. tiqet does not hold organizer funds and does not control payout timing.

Chargebacks, disputes, and negative balances are the organizer's responsibility. Where tiqet is charged for a dispute on your sale, we may recover that amount from you.

A ticket is a revocable licence to attend the event, issued by the organizer. Tickets are personal; resale above face value is prohibited unless the organizer permits it. tiqet may invalidate a ticket obtained fraudulently or through a payment that is later reversed.

Consumer rights, including any statutory right of withdrawal, are exercised against the organizer. Contact details for the organizer appear on every event page and in the ticket email.

tiqet is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, tiqet's total liability to an organizer in any twelve-month period is limited to the service fees that organizer paid tiqet in that period, and tiqet is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of goodwill.

Neither party is liable for a failure caused by an event outside its reasonable control.

We may change these terms; material changes are notified to organizers by email at least [notice period] before they take effect, and continued use after that date is acceptance. Either party may end the relationship at any time, but obligations relating to tickets already sold survive until those events have taken place or been refunded.

These terms are governed by the law of [governing law], and the courts of [jurisdiction] have exclusive jurisdiction, without depriving a consumer of the protection of mandatory rules of the country where they live. Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
